I have to admit when Wayne asked us to blog about Twitter, I really was surprised. I always thought that Twitter was just a photo site, not a place for people to keep others up to date with each other! Of course the first place you go to is Wikipedia, which told me more.
Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. Updates are displayed on the user’s profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends (delivery to everyone being the default). Users can send and receive updates via the Twitter website, SMS, RSS (receive only), or through applications such as Tweetie, Twitterrific, and Feedalizr. The service is free to use over the web, but using SMS may incur phone services provider fees. So, this tells me that I really AM a little behind on the whole social networking thing!!

It is so weird to me to see how huge twitter really is, before i got one i had no idea what it was and then it was still pretty small but it kind of took off very rapidly and people are starting to see that it can be useful for more then just one thing
Twitter is really growing and can be used as a device to really integrate ideas and concepts!! Networking with individuals across the globe, but did you know that someone hacked into and is teaching some people to do the same freaky right?!?!?!
Twitter can be an amazing tool, what applications do you see for its use in the business and educational world? I think that it is really interesting idea that you can keep people up to date with your everyday goings.
